Hello Friends of Rotary Youth Exchange,
Let's get behind Chris Rice's request (below) for a Rotary 6080 Rotarian to coordinate the short-term exchange. We've got the students....let's serve their needs.

Chris has been doing an outstanding job of running this program for the district. Chris makes it look easy. In addition, he and his wife have opened their home for one of the inbound students who has had an adjustment problem. That's dedication! Let's give Chris the help he needs to complete the exchange program picture.

District 6080 could have a very active short-term program with the interest that has been shown. Our Missouri young people are wanting this international opportunity. Let's make it available for them. Let's seriously ASK everyone who we believe has the ability to coordinate this program. Now I'm not talking about an announcement at our club. I'm talking about asking eyeball to eyeball! I've already started working through my club talking with potential coordinators...not through yet! Please join me in a serious search.
Let's also give Chris a round of applause for his outstanding leadership!
Thanks for your help,    Audrey Spieler

Subject: Short Term Exchange w. Japan
Dear Rotarians:
One of the students who contacted me the same day I sent the message out regarding our short term exchange opportunity with Japan has completed her application and I am waiting to receive it. Her application will probably be accepted unless there are glaring problems.

I'm sorry we don't have more short term opportunities available at this time. Amazingly, we had 4 students interested in this Japanese exchange!

Next year we hope to have a Rotarian in place who will be able to help us manage our
short term exchange program. If we can find someone, things should go much
more smoothly and we should have more opportunities for short term exchanges.
Note: If you are aware of anyone who would like to work on the short term exchanges, please let me know.
Thank you for supporting Rotary Youth Exchange!  - Chris
