=== 12/09 Evening Rotary Report ===
Date: Tue, 10 Dec 2002 17:40:47 -0600
Retiring state senator Larry Rohrbach, a member of the Missouri General Assembly since 1982, and Senator-Elect Carl Vogel spoke to members of the Evening Rotary Club and guests. Rohrbach, who will be leaving the Senate in January due to term limit legislations, discussed changes that have taken place during his 20-year tenure in the legislature and described his work there.
Representative Vogel, a member of the Missouri House for 13 years, discussed the radical changes in the new Senate (twelve new members), and the modifications he anticipates in the protocol of that body. Both speakers responded to questions from the audience. Evening Rotary Club President Vic Tomlinson presented the speakers with an Evening Rotary Club banner as a token of appreciation.
Club Community Service chair Dr. Harry Richter reviewed the status of the club's Habitat for Humanity and Samaritan Center Adopt-A-Family projects.
The Habitat house where Rotarians most recently volunteered will have an Open House soon. Hal Dulle was recognized as a new member of the club. Program Chair noted a holiday musical program is scheduled for the next meeting on December 16.
The Evening Rotary Club meets each Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, downtown Jefferson City. Persons interested in becoming a member may contact Tomlinson at (573) 659-5076.
