<FONT face="Arial Black, Geneva, Arial, Sans-serif">How to work with the
media</FONT> One way Rotary members can share the Rotary story is by
working with reporters. Think of the media as Rotary’s gatekeepers to the
public. It is important to realize how journalists operate and how to conduct
yourself while working with them. Also, it is essential reporters walk away with
the right message so the public can gain a positive image and tangible knowledge
of Rotary. Click below to find tips on working with the media.

Information Booths in your Community </FONT>

<DIV></DIV>
<P>Do conventions or conferences often occur in your city? Past President Frank
Devlyn recommends setting up Rotary information booths as a great community
outreach opportunity. <FONT

<P><FONT face="Arial Black, Geneva, Arial, Sans-serif">Here are some tips to
arrange setting up a booth at a local event. </FONT></P>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV><STRONG>*Contact local Chamber of Commerce, hotels or convention
centers to find out the next considerable event happening in your city.
</STRONG>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV><STRONG>*Think of ways Rotary relates to the event and use this to
your benefit. Check with event organizers to obtain a booth. Sometimes space is
donated to non-profits. </STRONG>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV><STRONG>*Discuss with your club what key messages the booth should
convey. You can offer general information relevant to your location, show Rotary
projects in your area, or provide information about visiting or joining Rotary
</STRONG>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV><STRONG>*Gather up some volunteers from your club or district to take
shifts working the booth. Make a schedule and distribute it to all booth
volunteers </STRONG>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV><STRONG>*Set up the booth and share the Rotary story! </STRONG>
