Rotary's  Position on War
----------------------------------------------------------
A recent article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette interviews President-elect Jonathan Majiyagbe and his view on Rotary and the possibility of a war with Iraq. “Rotarians do not preach politics or religion. They emphasize peace, “said Jonathan Majiyagbe, president-elect of Rotary International.
The article goes further to explain how Rotary promotes world understanding and what Majiyagbe plans to focus on while he is in office. Click below to read the entire article.

PR in Turbulent Times
----------------------------------------------------------
A recent article in the New York Times discusses the possibility that advertisers may soon cut ad budgets. Most national advertisers have already created contingency plans that may require the suspension of campaigns or the stopping of them all together should conflict begin.
This article proves to be very relevant in the field of PR, especially for non-profits like Rotary. War is never an opportune time, but, rather, a time when messages of hope are more relevant than ever.

An Opportunity to Promote Humanitarian Peace
----------------------------------------------------------
In accordance with the above New York Times article, if advertisers were to cancel their commercials, this would increase the need for PSAs to be used for unsold commercial time or print advertising space.
Our non-political humanitarian PSAs provide exactly what stations are looking for. They send a positive message and promote community cooperation. This is not just true at the international and national levels but the local level as well.
Click below to order the Rotary Connecting lives.Affecting lives PSAs. With a commitment to air the PSAs, a professional BETA version can be sent to a television station by calling (847) 866-3387.

Rotary World Peace Scholars
----------------------------------------------------------
The Rotary Peace Scholars are one way Rotary hopes to contribute to the future of world peace. The first class has nearly completed their first year and applications for 2003-2005 have already been accepted. Many Rotary World Peace Scholars have been featured in news publications around the world.
Because local media will probably be searching for stories of hope, peace and cross cultural understanding, consider a local angle on Rotary’s Peace and Rotary Ambassadorial Scholars and pitch the idea to your local paper or television station.
