Club Business
Rotary Foundation at Lodge of the Four Seasons, 10-3 Saturday
Seven are signed up so far (More Needed!) for Habitat for Humanity project on 10/18: bring Hammers, Gloves, ...?
Adopt-A-Highway cleanup is scheduled for Nov 8
Zambia donations drop-off this Saturday 9-12. There will be some conflict with homecoming parade traffic, but location will be the same. [put flyer on web] Container will not be shipped until Nov 1, so late donations can be arranged.
The club made $352.52 profit from the bulb sale fundraiser.
Pres. Lora needs ideas for a new fundraiser!
Board meeting tonight immediately after club meeting.
No meeting next week (State Holiday - Columbus Day)
Rotary license plates are now available for Missouri. They need 100 applications before any plates will be issued. DOnation will go to applicatnts own club.
Program
Cathy Libey and Jim Chillcut each gave short personal presentations.
Cathy described a "typical day" her life as a middle school gifted ed teacher in the Columbia Public Schools.
Jim described the early cigar-chomping men-only Rotary meetings in Jefferson City, and a typical day as a retired
state worker and antique dealer. Jim also taught us the finer points of smuggling Irish china across the Canadian border.
