Jefferson City Evening Rotary Club met on Monday, September 29th at Grace Episcopal Church. Vice President Harry Richter presided over the meeting.

Assistant Governor Don Alberti spoke to the club about the Rotary Foundation. The mission of the Rotary Foundation is to support the efforts of Rotary International. There are 3 types of programs supported by the foumdation. They are Polioplus, Humanitarian Programs and Education Programs. There are 2 types of grants that fund these programs. The foundation will match money that is raised at the local level to support international projects. Individual grants are funds that help individuals or small groups travel in order to provide humanitarian assistance. These monies are funded through endowments. Rotarian Don Alberti also encouraged all of the Rotarians to attend the Rotary Foundation and Membership meeting that will be on Saturday, October 18th from 10:00am until 3:00pm at Tan Tar A.

Vice President Richter announced that a board meeting will be held on Monday, October 6th after the regular meeting. There will also be a clothes drive for children in an orphanage in Zambia. This will be held in the parking lot of Grace Episcopal Church on Saturday, October 11th. Evening Rotarians will also be helping out at Habitat on Saturday, October 18th. A tentative date of November 8th has been set to clean up the stretch of highway designated to Evening Rotary.

Jefferson City Evening Rotary meets every Monday night from 5:30-6:30 at Grace Episcopal Church. For information regarding this club please go to jceve.org.
