Jefferson City Evening Rotarians enjoyed programs on some of the community services provided in Jefferson City.

Christy Carel, a community specialist for the American Cancer Society spoke on September 7th. Carel spoke about the Relay for Life. There were 95 teams in Cole County and they raised $300,000. The kick off this year begins on November 16th.

On September 14th Linda McAnay discussed the services United Way provides. They provide for 14 agencies and 2 nonmember agencies. McAnay provided a video that showed how contributions were used.

Rahma Grohs joined Rotarians on the 21st. She volunteers with Habitat for Humanity. The River City Habitat was formed in 1992. The first home was built in 1993. River City Habitat is currently on its 42nd home.

The 28th of September found Evening Rotarians with trash bags and orange vests. Trash pick up was done along our stretch of Hwy. 179. This was done in lieu of a meeting. There was such a great turnout that almost all of the highway was cleaned up in a matter of one hour. Thanks also to Lisha and Dan VanderSteen for helping out with this project.
