President Harry Richter was born in St. Louis. Missouri on March 9, 1942. After graduating from Ritenour High School he attended St. Louis College of Pharmacy and graduated in 1965. He was also lucky enough to meet Suzanne during this time.
Richter practiced Retall Pharmacy from 1965-1976, After graduating from University of Missouri School of Dentistry he was Assistant Professor of Clinical Dentistry. He has practiced general dentistry since July 1, 1976.
He and Suzanne will be married 39 years on September 2nd. They have 5 children and 11 grandchildren.
Harry is an active member of Grace Episcopal Church. He has served on the vestry and as senior warden several times. He is currently chair of the Congregational Development Committee.
Scouting has also been an important part of his life. He has served in a variety of positions within scouting. He and Suzanne have led the Explorers on treks to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and to the Sea Base in the Florida Keys. He has been presented with awards such as the Silver Beaver Award and the St. George Award for service to Scouting in the Episcopal Church.
Richter has coached youth sports and was involved in the organization of the Capital Soccer Club.
Hobbies for Richter include camping, photography, sailing and gardening. He even enjoyed duck hunting ... until the hunters outnumbered the ducks.
Jefferson City Evening Rotary is fortunate to have a dedicated president such as Harry Richter.
