Jefferson City EVENING Rotary Club Celebrates Year's Service; Past Rotary Governor Nicholas Monaco Installs Officers
The Jefferson City EVENING Rotary Club joined 32,066 clubs in 168 countries worldwide in a "changing of the guard" on July 1. Past Rotary District Governor Nicholas Monaco of Jefferson City was the installing officer at ceremonies and dinner at the Hotel DeVille.
Monaco summarized facts regarding Rotary's international missions,
especially that of eliminating Polio globally. He complimented outgoing
president Harry Richter and past year's board members Paula Hartsfield, Suzanne Richter, Mulima Walusiku, Tony Hiesberger and Cathy Libey for service to the community.
Jim Libey was installed as president for the Rotary year 2005-2006. The club reviewed its past year's community and global service projects. Frank Rycyk was honored for efforts in coordinating weekly club programs. It was announced that Rycyk has agreed to continue in that capacity for the new year. Jim Chilcutt was commended for his efforts in leading the club in
collecting shoes for orphan children.
It was noted that Don Brackhahn of Rolla has succeeded Dee Corn of Columbia as Rotary District Governor. Brackhahn will be visiting the EVENING Rotary Club Tuesday. Jim Wieberg will serve as the news Assistant District Governor for the four Jefferson City Rotary Clubs.
Outgoing Rotary District Governor, Dee Corn sent commendations to Don Alberti for his service as outgoing Assistant District Governor, Tony Hiesberger for his service as Rotary District Public Relations coordinator, and Murphy Tetley for service as Web Site coordinator.
Rotary has 1.2 million members and diversity is the key to its greatness.The common denominator is a commitment to the principle of "Service Above Self" - the Rotary motto.
